What Do You Get Access to as Registered Press?

As a media registrant, you will have access to scientific sessions, plenary sessions, the exhibit hall, and the poster hall.

Roundtable sessions are closed to the press due to their small attendance size, but we will be happy to schedule interviews with roundtable speakers.

Photography and Videotaping

Registered media are allowed to take photos and video record in the exhibit hall, but only after receiving prior approval from the AACC Communications team and arranging for an AACC staff member to escort the photography or film crew. Registered media must also receive approval from the exhibitors whose booths they are photographing/videotaping.

Registered media may not take photos or videotape any AACC Annual Scientific Meeting sessions.

Requests to take photographs or videotape in other parts of the convention center outside the exhibit hall and sessions will be reviewed and approved by the AACC Communications team on a case-by-case basis.

To submit a photography/videotaping request and/or to arrange for an escort in the exhibit hall, please send the following information to AACC Senior Manager of Communications & PR, Christine DeLong:

  • Purpose of the photography/video shoot
  • Planned location of the shoot within the convention center
  • Planned date and time of shoot

Embargo Policy

The information contained in the abstracts selected for presentation at the 2020 AACC Annual Scientific Meeting is embargoed until AACC makes the abstracts available online. The media, companies and institutions issuing press releases, and others are required to abide by this embargo policy.

Now that the meeting has been rescheduled to December 13-17, we are still figuring out the exact timing of when the abstracts will be made publicly available, but we will post more information here as soon as we know.

Onsite Press Room

AACC will have an onsite press room in Room S103BC at McCormick Place Convention Center.

As a media registrant, you can pick up your badge and other meeting materials in the onsite press room when you first arrive at the convention center.

The press room offers WiFi and laptop hookups, and you are welcome to make yourself comfortable here to work on stories. Additionally, free breakfast and lunch will be available for registered press each day of the meeting.

Please note that you must be registered as media to use the press room. Company and public relations representatives may enter the room to drop off press materials, but are not permitted beyond the entryway table.

Interviews

Registered media may use the interview room in Room S101B at McCormick Place Convention Center to conduct interviews for editorial news coverage. Use of this room for interviews is by appointment only and is subject to availability.

Media interviews may also be conducted in the AACC press room or within the confines of a company’s booth as long as the photography and videotaping policies of the AACC exhibit hall are observed.

To reserve the interview room, please contact Christine DeLong.

Press Conference Schedule

Press conferences will be held at the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting on Tuesday, December 15 and Wednesday, December 16.
