Evolution of a COVID-19 Laboratory: From mortar to mobile

Wednesday, September 29, 7-8:30 a.m.
Hyatt Regency, Regency Ballroom V
Supported by Thermo Fisher Scientific

Overview

Atlas Genomics, a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratory, will present the evolution of a molecular diagnostic facility from a brick-and-mortar operation in Seattle, WA to deployment of full-service mobile units across the U.S. Our relationship with Thermo Fisher Scientific enables a rapid pivot from a focus on women’s health laboratory services to a high volume, RT-PCR operation supporting local, state, and federal regulatory entities through several programs including community access COVID-19 test sites, assisted living facilities, department of corrections/health department operations and school testing. Atlas Genomics developed mobile labs across several states to address the need for improved turnaround times.

Outcomes

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand new post-COVID-19 opportunities, changes, and/or new applications.
  • Learn from COVID-19 testing and surveillance work.
  • Make changes to labs based on learnings.
