For more than 70 years, the specimen management division of BD Integrated Diagnostic Solutions has advanced the science of specimen collection to help laboratory tests become the foundation for up to 70% of all medical decisions. Continuing BD’s longstanding tradition of ensuring best practices in the collection, transportation, and processing of blood samples, we will share information on novel advances in blood collection technology. In this workshop, we will review the clinical benefits of blood collection tubes with mechanical separation technology and advances in capillary collection.

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the clinical advantages of utilizing a blood collection tube with mechanical separation technology
  • Describe advances in tools available for capillary collection
